Chongqing Yuzhou Hotel was established in 1958 and is a public institution under the Chongqing Municipal Administration of Government Affairs (Chongqing Municipal Government Reception Service Center). It is operated by Chongqing Tianyi Holding Group and performs both reception services and external business operations. The hotel is also Chongqing’s only “State Guesthouse,” a China Five-Leaf Green Hotel, a vice-director unit of the China Urban Government Hotel Alliance, and the president unit of the Chongqing Hotel Industry Association. Since its establishment, the hotel was initially known as “Post Office Box 2008.” In 1958, it was renamed Panjiaping Guesthouse of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Committee’s Foreign Affairs Office. Over the years, its name has been changed several times to reflect the characteristics of different historical periods. In 1980, it was renamed Chongqing Service Bureau Yuzhou Hotel; in 1982, it was renamed Chongqing Yuzhou Hotel and has retained this name ever since.
