August is radiant, bathed in the blazing summer sunshine; August is glorious, resounding with the music played by soldiers in uniform. Ninety-five years ago, the first shot of the Nanchang Uprising announced to the world that the Chinese People's Liberation Army had been born. From nothing to something, from weak to strong, our people’s army has fought bloody battles, repeatedly defeating powerful enemies, and has now become a mighty force that shakes the world.

On the eve of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Yuzhou Hotel held a thematic symposium titled “Retirement Doesn’t Mean Losing Our Aspirations—Making Achievements in New Yuzhou and Warmly Welcoming the 20th National Congress” to celebrate “August 1st.” This event is of great significance for further carrying forward the fine traditions and conduct of retired military personnel, promoting the spirit of dedication, and supporting and driving the high-quality development of Yuzhou Hotel’s undertakings. Song Guosheng, Deputy General Manager of the hotel, and... Yan Xuefeng Lan Hui, along with more than 50 participants—including personnel from the Personnel Quality Inspection Department, the Party and Mass Work Department, the Youth League General Branch, and the Women’s Committee, as well as active-duty veterans—gathered together joyfully to celebrate the Army Day. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Dejun, Chairman of the Trade Union.

The symposium began with the rousing sound of the national anthem. All the retired military personnel in attendance introduced their respective lengths of service, places of deployment, branches of service, and current positions. Four representatives shared their insights, drawing on their military careers as well as their practical experiences working at the museum.

The leading team members attending the meeting delivered enthusiastic speeches and presented condolence money and gifts to everyone, greatly encouraging all retired military personnel working at the hotel. The symposium highlighted that all retired military personnel from the hotel remain steadfast in their commitment and continue to uphold their noble spirit even after leaving active service, playing a vital role in promoting the high-quality development of the Yuzhou Hotel. At the same time, the meeting urged everyone to carry forward the fine traditions and exemplary conduct of revolutionary soldiers into their daily work, transforming the care shown by the organization and the expectations set forth by the hotel’s leadership into an unwavering motivation for dedication and excellence in their posts, thus continuously maintaining their soldierly character, working diligently, striving wholeheartedly, and making new contributions to the ongoing development of the Yuzhou Hotel.

Everyone expressed their heartfelt gratitude, saying that it was the Yu Zhou Hotel—a big family—that had brought them all together. In our next steps, we will surely carry forward our fine traditions, strive for excellence, and bring honor to the hotel. We will always uphold the spirit of military personnel and endeavor to be “loyal guardians” of “Yu Bin.”

The landscape is picturesque, and military banners fly high; the Great Wall stands majestic, stretching for ten thousand li. Though the flames of war have died down, the smoke still lingers—ironclad troops march forth in all directions, safeguarding the four corners of the land. The symposium came to a close amid the rousing strains of the Chinese People's Liberation Army’s anthem.
